Piercing

What Are Piercings?

Piercing is a form of body modification where a small hole is created in a part of the body to insert jewelry. This practice, which has been part of various cultures for thousands of years, is often used for self-expression and aesthetic enhancement.

The procedure involves cleaning the designated area, marking the spot, and using a sterilized needle or piercing gun to create the hole. Jewelry, typically made of hypoallergenic materials like surgical steel, titanium, or gold, is then inserted. Common types of piercings include those on the ears, nose, eyebrows, lips, tongue, navel, and other body parts.

How Many Sessions Do I Need?

For piercings, only one session is typically needed to complete the piercing procedure. However, follow-up visits may be recommended to ensure proper healing and address any concerns.

What to expect?

Before the piercing treatment, you'll have a brief consultation to decide on the placement and type of piercing. The area will be cleaned and marked for precise placement. During the procedure, a sterilized needle or piercing gun is used to create the hole, and the jewelry is inserted. You may feel a quick, sharp pinch. After the treatment, some redness and swelling are normal and should subside within a few days. Follow the provided aftercare instructions to clean the piercing and prevent infection. Healing times vary, with ear lobes typically healing in 6-8 weeks and cartilage and body piercings taking several months to a year. Regular follow-up visits can help monitor healing progress and address any concerns.
